Know he had relationships with Marian High School and Cardinal Brennan High School families. He was dismissed in February by the Diocese of Allentown (Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Nesquehoning) but no charges are being filed by the Schuylkill County DA because cases against him (that were turned over by the Diocese of Allentown) and via personal contact with the DA have exceeded the statute of limitations in PA. Unfortunately, I didn't report to the church and the DA until after he was removed, so I know that others did report him. I want to know who else and how many he got to. His areas of escape with kids were to his cabin in Big Bear and to Ocean City, Maryland, where he now resides. Please respond if he got to you too. And THANK YOU to whoever had the courage and strength to report him to the Diocese. Your effort finally got him removed from the Priesthood.

Marie Arieta, 16, this year's selection -- by lottery as in the past -- is no exception. As former Bishop Thomas Welsh looked on, the church's pastor presented Carbon County brothers Daniel and Ralph Cipko with a plaque in honor of their $16,000 gift. In August, the new computerized sound system replaced a 25-year- old library of tapes and a machine that played religious music. Posts: 7 Jun 11 02 4:32 PM	Thanks, gtwin. Yes. I've got confirmation from a number of sources that he was one of four priests dismissed earlier this year. I've called the rectory and the Parish personally. And he is gone. When I reported him to the DA of Schuylkill County, I thought he was still at that Parish. I learned a few weeks later that he was dismissed. (I have been on the West Coast for 15 years, so I am physically removed from the area in that I can't search/research in person). But I did find his current address and phone number. He is residing in Ocean City, Maryland. Being in a small town/area (upstate PA... coal country) there was not a lot about him on the internet. I know that he was pulled in the early 80's to the Servants of the Paraclete in New Mexico. I even called him there (to see how he was doing....how f-ed up is that!?!?!?!). But he was returned to the same parish in Nesquehoning, PA. Thanks for the input and help. It's nice to know that I'm not alone. I told my parents three years ago before the media hype hit. They had no idea what to even say, so they didn't even really respond. When I recently told them (a few months ago) that I called the DA and reported him, they were shocked, saying that it was the first they ever heard of me being molested! They said, "What kind of parents would we be if we knew and didn't do anything?!!!!" The answer would be, the kind of parents who are so in denial that if they tried to conceive of such a thing 3 years ago, before the media confirmed the breadth and extent of such abuse, their heads would have exploded. They were/are so blindly loyal and so much of their life based on the assumed moral perfection of the church and its priests and bishops, that they can not sanely rationalize the fact that they encouraged, supported and perpetuated a relationship between themselves, myself and a child molesting priest who targeted and molested me, while they unwittingly 'sanctioned' it. So finding a source like SNAP has been such a well of acceptance and acknowledgement that I didn't even realize I was thirsting for. I don't want the 'woa is me' sympathy. Just simple acknowledgement. It feels good to be understood... and not to be immediatley doubted and questioned and disbelieved. Now if I can just channel the all the anger that keeps building... the anger that my molester is still walking around free, in an environment where no one knows his history or his past... the anger that the very bishops and cardinals and fellow priests who knew and did nothing until the media forced them to are STILL not being held accountable. But they WILL have their day. If not in civil court, in God's court upon thier death. I do believe in a 'universal justice'. The eyes of truth ARE always watching. And their day will come. (Wow. I just reread that. I guess I've got a little pent up emotion. It sure feels good to get it off my chest.)

Posts: 16 Jun 12 02 10:28 AM	Schuyk - I'm glad to hear you were able to confirm that Tucci is no longer at the church in Nesquehoning, Pa., and that he was, in fact, "Dismissed." You mentioned in your initial posting that Tucci had a cabin at "Big Bear"; Could his cabin possibly have been at either Bear Creek or Bear Creek Lake? I believe that both of those communities are within 30 to 50 miles of Nesquehoning, Pa........ Like you, I also grew up in Eastern Pa. I was repeatedly sexually abused by a Lutheran Pastor, The Rev. H. Oscar Schlessman. I never had the chance to tell anyone about my abuse, or to report Rev. Schlessman, as I just started "dealing with it" over the last 6-7 years, and I still have a fair amount of difficulty in talking about the abuse. Both of my parents have passed away, and Schlessman is also dead (he died in the mid-1970s). Unfortunately, I feel as though I was never able to get any kind of "justice." To the best of my knowledge, Schlessman was never reported as a child abuser, although he surely molested a lot of young boys during his lifetime. I was present at times when he molested a number of my friends, and he frequently bragged to us about boys from other towns & other churches whom he had sex with; In the course of his career, he served at 5 or 6 different Lutheran Churches in the eastern part of Pa.; I'm relatively sure that he molested the young boys at every church he served. ...... One interesting thing I've recently found out is that there was a two-year period in the middle of his career when he was not assigned to any church. I wonder if The Lutheran Hierarchy had removed him for those two years because they might have known about his behavior, but I doubt if I'll ever be able to find out.......Anyway, enough about me. I'm just glad to know that you were able to confirm Rev. Tucci's dismissal, and I also wanted to let you know that you are certainly not alone! There are many, many of us with pent up anger, confusion, sadness, etc., and many of us continue to struggle.

And that is the area. Good local knowledge, gtwin. Regarding your perv...unfortunately, being raised strict Catholic we weren't too in touch (no pun intended) with the other religions in town or in the area. If you feel comfortable, I'm curious as to what town Schlessman was in. My Father worked in JCPenneys for 30 years and my Mom in the local Catholic school for 25, so they might very well be familiar with him if he was in the vicinity... even back in the 70's. (their long term memory is much better than their short...). I'm a Shenandoah native, if that is close to your childhood home. I'm sorry that your closure is a bit challenging in that the perv is dead and that your folks have also passed on. If it is any consolation, I don't think my parents will ever come to grips with the reality of what occurred. I had an argument with my father on the phone about his/their denial of me telling them and 2 days later he was in the hospital with a heart condition brought on by stress. So the topic, for all practical purposes, is closed... or at best, very, very muffled and surface. They don't mention it or talk to me about it, and I don't bring it up any longer. I guess that whether or not parents are alive, there is still a base desire to hope that they will eventually be able (or the thought and belief that they would have eventually been able) to understand. And it will always remain. I'm sure there are sources and ways for you to find out more detail. Just depends on the size of the chunk of your life you want to dedicate to it. I'm still trying to figure out what will give me closure. It's still a bit overwhelming and I don't think I'm in the place just yet to know what will bring me satisfaction. This is kind of new (2 months) since I've directly addressed the whole issue with myself and my family. I'm trying (on a daily basis) to figure out what it will take for me to begin to close and heal and try to move on, lest this whole thing envelop and consume me. I hope that you are doing/can do the same. I believe that is the key. We've lived with it ourselves for so long. Contained somewhere in the corner of our minds. I figure that realistically, it is eventually up to me and only me to heal myself. We've got a lot of sources now available, such as SNAP, but when you lay in bed at night, it will only be yourself and what is inside of you that deals, copes, addresses and goes forward. But one really hard kick (with heavy, steel-toed boots) right in their balls sure would go a long way to providing some satisfaction, even if only short term. I'd think I'd kick his balls all the way to the Diocesan Office, right up onto the Bishop's desk. Oh to dream.

This occurred in the late 70s or early 80s. I have been fighting with the torture of the memories for the past twenty years. I am in therapy now trying to work out what happened to me. I was wondering if you have any more information for me about what happened in PA? Does anyone know how to find a photo of the perpetrator? I want to start to take action, but dont know whom to turn to and how to file a complaint, and if I can take legal action against him. I am sorry about what happened to you.

I've been looking for other victims of Tucci. I understand that he did this to more than a few youths. His patterns of working himself into families is now obvious to me, unfortunately decades too late. I've dealt with telling my family and facing the denial and minimalization that they tend to impose. Horrible. Are you still in the area? If I can be of any help, let me know. I'd be willing to speak in person once we verify each other's background.

Have you contacted the Police regarding him? Or anyone else? And what can they do/what does that accomplish? Would like to know the implications. Anything I can do to alert authorities and/or the local community, I'd be more than willing to do.

Posts: 7 Jul 21 03 5:27 PM	Hi, We actually heard about Tucci last year on this board. I had noticed the fact that he was living in Ocean City, MD. Our perp also had a trailer in OC, where he molested altar boys for years. I always wondered if these guys had a club or knew of each other somehow... Anyway, we did mention his name to Vicki Martin in the course of the investigation of our perp (John Danilak). I think they know about Tucci, but don't have anything concrete on him at the time. As I mentioned before, Maryland has no criminal statute of limitations, so if Tucci molested you or anyone you know in Maryland you might be able to get him convicted and jailed. You'd have to file a formal complaint with the Ocean City police...see Vicki's number from my previous post. It sounds to me like there are a lot of Tucci survivors out there.
